Mango Milkshake (3 ingredients)

cream mango milkshake recipe made with only 3 ingredients at home topped with whipped cream and mango pulp

Last week I shared my Mango Tiramisu recipe that is so easy and takes less than 30 minutes to prepare. Today I am sharing with you another delicious mango treat: this super easy mango milkshake. We were actually spending the day outside; it was a beautiful sunny day in March and we were craving something cold and sweet. After walking so many steps we were too tired to look for a place, so I suggested mango milkshakes and everyone agreed! So here it is, a super easy recipe for mango lovers that is ready in 3 minutes.

  • Vanilla Ice Cream: I highly suggest using a vanilla bean ice cream as it makes this milkshake so much better. I used Carte D’or Madagascan Vanilla Ice Cream. If you can’t find a similar one, you can always add a bit of vanilla paste like Nielsen-Massey Pure Vanilla Bean Paste.
  • Milk: use cold milk. Nothing fancy, I used 2% milk, but you can use your favorite milk instead if you prefer almond or other types.
  • Mango Pulp: this comes in a can from the supermarket and is simply mangoes and sugar. You can also opt for the no-added-sugar version if you can find it.

To a blender, add the mango puree, cold milk, and vanilla ice cream. Blend on high for about 30 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth, frothy, and thick. That’s it!

Finding the Best Milkshake Ratio for You

The best part about this recipe is how easily you can adjust the thickness to your liking. I used 120g of vanilla ice cream to about 60g of milk, and for me, that ratio was perfect, creamy, not too thick and easy to drink.

If you prefer a different consistency, you can easily tweak it:

  • For a Thicker Shake: Increase the ice cream or slightly decrease the milk until it reaches your desired thickness.
  • For a Thinner Shake: Simply add a splash more milk and pulse the blender again.

The quantity of the mango pulp stays the same regardless of the ratio you choose, although, you can absolutely add more or less if you prefer.

Expert Tips for the Perfect Milkshake

  • Chill Your Glass: Before you start blending, place your serving glass in the freezer for about 5–10 minutes. This prevents the milkshake from melting the moment it hits the glass, keeping it thick and frosty for longer.
  • Don’t Over-Blend: Blend only until the mixture is uniform. Over-blending generates heat from the motor, which can turn your thick milkshake into a thin liquid. 30 seconds is usually the “sweet spot.”
