Honey mustard sauce is one of my favorite sauces to make at home. For me, it’s the best dip to serve with chicken tenders and a side of french fries. It’s creamy, sweet, and balanced, and the best part is how easy it is to make. You only need a few ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.

What are the Ingredients for Honey Mustard Sauce
As always, I try to keep my recipes simple and made with what most of us already have at home. For this honey mustard sauce, I use regular yellow mustard instead of Dijon. I’m not a big fan of Dijon, so I rarely have it around. The ingredients are basic and easy to find: mayonnaise, yellow mustard, honey, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Yes, that’s it!
How to Make Honey Mustard Sauce
To make the honey mustard sauce, mix mayonnaise, mustard, honey, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper in a bowl until smooth and creamy. Once ready, you can use it right away or store it in a sealed jar or container in the fridge. It stays good for up to a week.
What to Serve Honey Mustard Sauce With
Honey mustard goes perfectly with chicken tenders, fries, roasted potatoes, grilled chicken, sandwiches, wraps, or even salads (you can make it thinner if you prefer or keep it as is). It’s one of those sauces that work with almost everything, sweet or savory.
How to Make Low Calorie Honey Mustard Sauce
To make a low calorie honey mustard sauce, replace half or all the mayonnaise with Greek yogurt. It keeps the same creamy texture but with fewer calories and more protein. You can also use a light mayo if you prefer a milder flavor. If you replace all of the mayonnaise with Greek yogurt, keep in mind that Greek yogurt has acidity so you might need to adjust honey and mustard accordingly.

Yes, just swap the mayonnaise for Greek yogurt or sour cream. It will still be creamy but with a bit more tang and fewer calories.
How long does homemade honey mustard sauce last
Keep it in a sealed jar or airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days. Give it a quick stir before using.
