Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Cut the baguette or bread you are using in half and place it on a baking tray. Wash the parsley and finely chop it. Grate the garlic. In a bowl, combine the butter, parsley, garlic, salt, and freshly grated black pepper.
Divide the butter mixture and spread it evenly over the bread halves.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella on top, making sure the bread is well covered.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, until the bread is crispy. Switch to broil and bake for another 1 to 2 minutes, just until the top is golden and bubbly.
